Sarasota Springs

Sarasota Springs welcomes you through a historic Canopied Treed Road. Secluded and reminiscent of old Florida, these single family homes are just a few miles from all the conveniences. Residents enjoy considerable privacy, serene lake views, mature trees and wildlife. Some additional neighborhoods include Ridgewood Estates and Brentwood Estates. To the east, Colonial Oaks neighborhood is conveniently located just west of Cattlemen Road between Bee Ridge Road and Fruitville Road, nestled between two very convenient shopping areas. Colonial Oaks is an oasis of tall oak trees, quiet sidewalks and Colonial Oaks Park- offering many activities including tennis and basketball courts, a gym, picnic tables with barbecue grills, a fenced children’s play area, and walking trails.

Nearby, Fruitville neighborhoods sprang from orchards of citrus and ranches of roaming cattle. The first school arose in 1905 and this area became Palmer Farms in 1923 when the sons of Bertha Honoré Palmer drained 26,000 acres through a series of canals to create more tillable land. It encompassed 40 square miles and operated as a farming co-operative until 1947. Today many neighborhoods have replaced the farms including Hidden Oaks, Sherwood Forest, Cedar Hollow and Deer Hollow where homes range in price from the $200’s to the $800’s. There are homes near I-75 with more acreage for those looking for wide open space.
