Myakka City

Myakka is a small, rural city about 25 miles east of Sarasota that covers 230 square miles in southeastern Manatee County. The population is approximately 6,000 and residents live on small and large acreage ranches as well as some single family residential homes on lot size parcels. Prices range from the high $200’s for homes on lots to the millions for ranchlands. Neighborhoods include Braden Woods, Panther Ridge, Pomello Ranches and Saddlebag Creek. This is a beautiful slice of old Florida where you still see the stars, hear the birds and know your neighbors. The Myakka River flows through Myakka State Park, a 37,000 acre nature preserve nine miles east of Interstate 75. Other points of interest include the Manatee County Crane Park, the Lemur Preserve, Dakin Dairy Farm and Bearadise Ranch and Crowley Nature Preserve.
